Call for Committee Nominations

Our division is pleased to invite nominations for several positions on the Executive and Awards Committees:

  • Vice Chair-Elect (4-year term)
  • DEI Vice Chair (2-year term)
  • Secretary (2-year term)
  • Two Legislative Assembly Representatives (1-year term)
  • One Graduate Student Representative (2-year term; all candidates must be ABD)
  • Six or more Awards Reviewers (1-year term; the Division may elect up to 15 Awards Reviewers)

Please note that the Vice Chair-Elect serves a four-year term comprising Vice Chair-Elect, Vice Chair, Chair, and Immediate Past Chair. The DEI Vice Chair serves a two-year term comprising Vice Chair and Chair.

Nominations are open to any current member of the NCA Health Communication Division. Please confirm that nominees are willing to serve if elected. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Nominees should provide a concise academic biography of 75–100 words, along with a brief statement outlining their qualifications for serving the Division effectively.

For Awards Reviewer nominations, all nominees must hold a Ph.D. The exception is the Dale E. Brashers Distinguished Mentor Award Committee, which must include at least one current graduate student; this graduate student representative does not need to be ABD. For Awards Reviewer nominations, only the nominee’s name is required. Please also indicate whether the nominee is a graduate student.

The Executive and Awards Committees of the Health Communication Division are committed to engaging colleagues in our discipline who may have faced challenges finding equitable spaces or participating within our Division. We encourage you to nominate individuals who embody these values and to vote so that your voice is represented. Thank you for your active participation in this important process.
