
Introducing a new division-wide award, the Teri Thompson Distinguished Service Award, in honor of the founding editor of Health Communication, a foundational journal for our discipline. We’ll award this honor for the first time during the 2026 NCA conference. Criteria for the award are as follows:
- The nominated scholar has made significant and sustained contributions to the field of health communication through service to the discipline and its members.
- The nominated scholar demonstrates substantial service related to publishing and scholarly infrastructure, including editorial, reviewing, or related contributions that advance health communication.
- The nominated scholar has made meaningful contributions through professional organization and/or conference service, such as leadership roles, committee work, or program development in organizations where health communication is recognized.
